What is a review sheet?
-A review sheet is a way of teaching students how to condense the class material into a self-made study guide. This is an essential tool for when they go to college, and teaches them active studying strategies.
-The students start with a vocab objective sheet (see below). On this sheet they are given ALL the vocabulary for the unit and the concepts that they will be learning.
-It is the students' job to take the objectives located on the back of the vocab objective sheet, and demonstrate that they know the material by drawing diagrams, listing important vocab., writing important info, and labeling pictures.

Tips and Tricks:
-Making a review sheet is difficult for students initially. For some it takes time to learn how to organize the material, condense the content, and possibly use color effectively. Typically they struggle with just wanting to rewrite their notes. We walk them through the process at first and show lots of examples! I am always available to look at early copies and give feedback/help.
Some students find it useful to split the paper up into the number of objectives there are. Then, they write complete each objective in the appropriate box. Here is an example:

Other students find it helpful to make the review sheets interactive with flaps and foldables. Here is an example:

It doesn't matter if it's typed or handwritten.
